Share Your Story: Join Us at a History Harvest

1–2 minutes

Upcoming Dates:

Come share your experience with local water hazards and crises at community collection events
known as a “History Harvest,”.

Researchers at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Jackson
State University, and University of Alabama will be hosting History Harvests across three
different Gulf Coast States: Acadiana, Louisiana, Jackson, Mississippi, and Mobile, Alabama to
better understand your knowledge about and attitudes toward local water crises and hazards.

At the History Harvest, we will have some activities to examine water hazards in the area and
collect interviews about your experiences with these hazards. These interviews intend to
examine how water crises and hazards have influenced your life and to come up with solutions
for how to better engage communities in water hazard mitigation efforts. The History Harvest
interviews will take place in person and take roughly 10 minutes. We will be recording the
interview for local history and donating the materials to our local archives.

To participate you must be interested in water hazards or crises and ideally live or have lived at
one time in the state of Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. You must also be over the age of 18
and consent to being interviewed.

If you are interested in sharing your views on local water crises and hazards like hurricanes,
drainage, flooding issues, or concerns over drinking water in Acadiana, Jackson, Mobile or
surrounding areas, we look forward to seeing you at the at one of our History Harvests listed
below!
